<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive highly adsorbable substance excellent in deodorizing capacity and moldability, by using a mixture consisting of hydrous magnesium silicate type clay mineral and an org. substance carbonized and activated by heating. CONSTITUTION:Clay mineral based on hydrous magnesium silicate and having a hydroxyl group rich in reactivity on the surface thereof is crushed to such a degree that the pores possessed by said clay mineral remain and the crushed one is mixed with a high-molecular synthetic substance such as coal, a petroleum type org. substance or a synthetic resin and the obtained mixture is molded into a desired shape. Next, this molded body is heated to carbonize and activate the org. substance in the molded body to obtain a highly adsorbance. At this time, if heating is performed in a temp. range of 200-800 deg.C in an inert gaseous atmosphere, the carbonized org. substance is activated by the combined water of the clay mineral, and a dehydration property and hygroscopicity are imparted. Therefore, if the highly adsorbable substance is sufficiently dried before use, excellent capacity can be developed.</p> |
