PURPOSE:To detect accurately the water content of grain, by providing a spiral groove on the periphery of a pair of supply rolls for taking and transporting the grain and tilting the supply rolls towards the top of the transport direction of the grain. CONSTITUTION:Part of the grain circulated and dried within a drier is supplied to the pair of supply rolls 2, 2 driven into rotation. The grain flows into the groove 1 on the periphery of the rolls 2, 2 and are transferred to a pressing and crushing part of the water content detecting part 4 for water content detection. When the grain is introduded into the groove 1 from the rolls 2, 2, and the grain fitted with husk is mixed, but it is difficult to be transported because of the inclined disposition of the rolls 2, 2. Moreover, these grains are not liable to flow into the groove 2 because of the affixed husks. The grains are delivered into the groove 1 separately by the supply guide 3 so that the crushed grains can be kept constant to permit accurate detection of the water content.
