Block brake operated via a Bowden cable, in particular for front wheels of two-wheelers, - with two lever arms (2, 3) which are arranged essentially vertically one above the other above the wheel (1) and at one end (12, 13) are articulated to each other, - with a connecting rod (4) which runs vertically, at its lower end (14) receives a brake block (15) in a known manner and the upper end (24) of which is articulated to the upper lever arm (2), approximately in the centre thereof, and the part of which, which is in the lower lever arm (3), is mounted in a sliding guide (5) approximately in the centre thereof, - with a receptacle (6) for the casing (7'') of the Bowden cable (7) at the free end (22) of the upper lever arm (2) and with a vertical hole (8) with a clamping screw (9) running perpendicularly thereto in the free end (23) of the lower arm (3) for securing the core (7') of the Bowden cable (7), - with a restoring spring (10) acting on the lever arms (2, 3) in the spreading direction, and - with a fastening screw (11) which is connected to the lower arm (3) in the region of the sliding guide (5) and can be guided through a hole (16'), which is in the bicycle fork tube (16) and points in the running direction of the wheel (1) with an intermediate layer comprising a moulding (11') which fixes the angle. <IMAGE>
