The invention relates to a profiled sealing ring for pipes, in particular for pipe couplings and pipe sockets, especially for sewer pipes, for example fibre and asbestos-cement pipes. Said sealing ring is produced from an elastic material such as rubber or plastic and can be introduced between the pipe and a socket enclosing this on the outside, to be precise, in particular, into a groove in said socket. On the outside, the sealing ring has peripheral strips directed outwards approximately in the radial direction and, on the inside, it has at least one peripheral sealing lip projecting towards the ring axis approximately in the radial direction. <IMAGE>
