The invention proposes a rotating mechanical seal which consists of a housing, a bellows, a slip ring and a spring. In order to be able to instal the rotating mechanical seal blind without damaging the slip ring in the process, the housing is provided radially to the outside of the slip ring with an all-round groove for the fitting tool. The axial limbs, which bound the groove and are connected together by a radial limb, extend approximately parallel to one another, ensuring good guidance and centering of the rotating mechanical seal during the installation process. <IMAGE>
