PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal head capable of giving stable quality and stainless printing by removing out fine fine projections which are spotted on the top and its neighbor of a protective layer by polishing. CONSTITUTION:Projections 24 adhered to the recessed portion 23 of the top and its neighbor of a braze layer 12 are removed out by an adequate polishing means to smoothen the heating section 22 and its neighbor of the surface of a wear-resistance layer 17. Therefore, even when a thermal recording paper and an ink ribbon are contacted with each other in a sliding manner, the staining of printing can be prevented because no local concentrating loads act on them. |
