PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a coil by providing the leading-in groove having smaller curvature than that of a coil on a bending die and in succession by arranging the forming groove having nearly equal curvature to that of the coil. CONSTITUTION:The guides 3, 4 of the inlet port side and outlet port side are respectively arranged on the feeding mechanism 1 of element wire 10 and a bending die 5 is provided in opposition to the guide 4. The leading-in groove 12 having smaller curvature than that of a coil is formed and in succession to the groove 12 the forming groove 13 having nearly equal curvature to that of the coil is further formed. In case of deforming the element wire 10 with pressing by the die 5 no irrational force is applied on the element wire 10. Therefore by performing the coiling as mentioned above the crack or disconnection caused on the coil can surely be prevented and the quality of the coil product is improved.
