Selective-cut heading machines for underground mining and tunnelling essentially consist of a machine body arranged on a crawler unit and having a cutting head working the heading face in sections, linked to a boom and provided with a cutting-track spray arrangement, the excavated material being delivered to the belt gate conveyor via conveying means. The various conveying means cause considerable expenditure particularly in terms of machinery. To avoid this expenditure and further disadvantages, a conveyor (7) delivering the excavated material to the belt gate conveyor (10) is provided between the crawler unit (8) in such a way as to project into the loading apron (6) and is releasably connected to the machine body (2), which conveyor (7), running on the floor (11) inside the machine and in the area arranged downstream of the machine, is partly designed as a curve-going conveyor (9) and in the transition area is mounted in a concertina-like rope suspension (13, 15, 16), the drive (14) being provided at the end of the conveyor (7) in the transition area (12). <IMAGE>
