The invention relates to a vehicle wheel with a pneumatic tyre and a metallic support body, located therein, for emergency running. A vehicle wheel is to be proposed which has a high load capacity at a high air pressure and which, in addition, still has sufficient stability under load when the pneumatic tyre is damaged. In order to achieve this object, the support body is constructed as an air reservoir and is equipped with at least two valves, one of which serves to fill the support body and the other of which permits air to escape from this support body into the space between tyre and support body.
