In the case of a signal transmitter, a control lever (10) is provided with a plate (22) which forms a planar annular surface (64). Two pairs, which are offset by 90 DEG in angle, of mutually diametrically opposite spring elements (60A, 60B and 60C, 60D) are prestressed against a bearing surface (58) which lies in a plane with the annular surface (64). The spring elements project over the annular surface (64). In this way, the control lever (10) is reliably held in its central position until the force acting thereon is sufficient to overcome the prestressing of the spring elements (60). <IMAGE>
