A simple connector of optical fibres, in which the optical fibre ends that are to be coupled to one another are mounted centrally in plug pins (2, 3) and the plug pins are inserted into a receptacle (1), consists in that the internal clear cross-section of the receptacle (1) virtually corresponds to the cross-sectional dimensions of the plug pins (2, 3) accommodated therein, and that there is arranged on the external circumference of the receptacle (1) in the vicinity of the point where the end faces of the plug pins meet, a stop (9) against which it is possible to rotate a nut (10) which is screwed onto the receptacle (1), which is provided with a thread (8) on its external circumference. <IMAGE>
