PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having excellent live storability and high color-forming property and capable of stopping coloration of unnecessary portion by including a high polymer formed from reaction of a multivalent isocyanate and a polyol in the wall of a micro capsule containing a diazo compound. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material having a recording layer containing a diazo compound and a coupler component on its supporter, the wall of a micro capsule containing a diazo compound contains a high polymer formed from reaction of a multivalent isocyanate and a polyol. The use of the polyol as a film-forming compound gives excellent live storability and high thermal color-forming property to the thermal recording material. The thermal permeability of the reactants can be optionally varied with combinations of the multivalent isocyanate and the polyol. As the core material of micro capsule, a high-boiling (at ordinary temperature) solvent is used preferably because light permeation or color formation occurs instantaneously during thermal recording period when using the core in a solution state. |
