PURPOSE:To minimize stains in a main signal by setting the phase pattern of recording chrominance components in such a relation that the crosstalks from the magnetic tracks on right and left sides are off-set with each other. CONSTITUTION:In case where the reproducing is executed by using a broad magnetic head, because the crosstalk occurs not only from the magnetic track of the main signal but from the ones on right and left sides, the detecting signal S is: S = (main signal + crosstalk from lefthand track + crosstalk from righthand track). When B2 of a magnetic track B is reproduced by a broad magnetic head, the reproduced signal is: SA=[ (B2)+ (A1)+ (C3)], and in case of B3: SB=[ (B3)+ (A2)+ (C4)]. By setting the crosstalks from the heads on both sides with an equal quantity, the said crosstalks are offset with each other to attain SA=[ (B2)], SB=[ (B3)], and only the main signal is reproduced.
