N-(2-chloro-4-trifluoromethylphenyl)-3-trifluoromethyl-benzenesulfonamide derivatives are represented by the following general formula:

wherein X and Y individually mean a hydrogen or chlorine atom. Such derivatives are useful as agricultural agents e.g. fungicides, for combatting soil-borne diseases.
