PURPOSE:To attain compensation retransmission efficiently even with a delay of a line by providing a means storing prescribed amount of line information sent already so as to attain retransmission of missing picture image from the corresponding line information even when a transmission error takes place. CONSTITUTION:A network control section (NCU) 87 connects a telephone network to a terminal device of the line to use it for data communication to apply connection control of the telephone exchange network, switches data communication line to holds the loop. A transmission signal on a signal line 71a is sent to a telephone line 67a via a signal line 67a and a network control section 67 from a hybrid circuit 88 separating the signal of the transmission and reception system. Further, a signal sent from the opposite facsimile equipment is sent to the signal line 68a via the network control section 67. A binary signal sending circuit 89 inputs a data on the signal line 76a when a pulse is generated on the signal line 76b and outputs a data subject to V21 modulation to the signal line 69a.
