PURPOSE:To restore the disturbance of a write address within n-cyclic time of the write address, that is, in a short time by resetting the write address in the timing of n-cyclic of the write address of a time axis correction memory even when the disturbance is caused due to dropout. CONSTITUTION:A signal recorded on a magnetic tape 9 by magnetic heads 8A, 8B is obtained from reproducing rotary magnetic heads 10A, 10B, fed to an FM demodulation circuit 12 via a reproducing amplifier 11 and a video signal SV having a horizontal synchronizing signal PH whose pulse width is widened at each 5H is obtained from an FM demodulation circuit 12. The signal SV obtained from the demodulation circuit 12 is converted into a digital data by an A/D converter 13 and fed to a time axis correction memory 14 as a write data. A wide pulse part at each 5H is detected from the horizontal synchronizing signal PH and the write address counter 17 is reset in the timing of the detection signal. That is, the horizontal synchronizing signal PH separated by a synchronous separator circuit 15 is fed to a level detection circuit 22.
