METHOD FOR ELECTROLESS-PLATING FIBROUS SUBSTANCE, WOVEN OR NONWOVEN FABRIC

PURPOSE:To carry out uniform electroless plating without damaging an apparatus by successively treating a fibrous substance or the like with a specified complex soln., a reducing soln. and an electroless plating soln. CONSTITUTION:A fibrous substance, a woven or nonwoven fabric is immersed in a complex soln. of about 10.0-12.5pH prepd. by dissolving about 0.01-1.0wt% at least one kind of compound of Pd (II), Ag (I), Cu (II) or Ni (II) such as chloride in an amide such as formamide. The material to be plated is further immersed in a reducing soln. of about 3-14pH prepd. by dissolving about 0.01-10wt% formaldehyde or the like in water to form metallic particles of Pd or the like on the surface of the material. The material to be plated is then plated by immersion in an electroless plating soln. The plating effect is further enhanced by successively pretreating the material with an aqueous soln. of a silane coupling agent and a sulfuric acid soln. before the treatment with the complex soln.
