PURPOSE:To realize a sure read processing with high efficiency while a high formatting processing capability is provided by designating the content of output formatting of a character and a graphic based on the display content of a display means so as to reduce the support job of the operator. CONSTITUTION:The operator observes the display of the pattern of the CRT 20 and uses the segmenting frame so as to confirm the result of detecting and segmention of a detecting and segmenting section 112. When the segmenting frame is displayed, the operator designates the output order of a picture in the unit of segmenting frame from a keyboard 22 so as to designate the content of output formatting. The operator discriminates the detecting and segmenting position of the character and the graphic depending on the position of the segmenting frame and when the position is adequate, the keyboard 22 inputs a confirming designation signal to a control section 23. When the detected and segmented position is in error, a mouse 21 is operated to correct the detected and segmented position on the screen of the CRT 20. The change command of the detected and segmented position is transferred from a display control section 19 to the control section 23 and further, transferred to the detecting and segmenting section 12. Thus, the detecting and segmenting section 12 corrects the detecting frame information designated in a data buffer 17.
