PURPOSE:To form a composite substrate having a uniform film thickness and excellent surface accuracy by making composite a metallic plate having excellent rigidity and heat resistance and synthetic resin contg. ultra-fine particles. CONSTITUTION:This composite substrate consists of a substrate 1, undercoating resin layers 2 formed on both or one surface of the substrate and resin layers 3 which are formed on the surface of the undercoating resin layers, consist of ultra-fine particles and synthetic resin and have a specular surface. The substrate 1 is a metallic plate such as aluminum plate, ceramic plate, glass plate, etc. The undercoating resin layer 2 is preferably an urethane or epoxy resin. The ultra-fine particles to be incorporated into the layers 3 are of preferably <=1mum average grain size and are preferably of alumina or aluminum hydroxide. Said particles are uniformly dispersed into the synthetic resin. The thickness of the resin layers is usually about 0.002-0.1mm. The resin layers having the surface accuracy approximately equal to the surface roughness of the type having a specular characteristic are thus obtd.
