PURPOSE:To eliminate mutual interference between plural static capacitance detection type pickup circuits by designing the circuit so that >=2 oscillators of plural static capacitance detection type pickup circuits installed in a case are not operated at the same time. CONSTITUTION:The pickups are arranged so that the 1st static capacitance detection type pickup circuit 1 picks up a signal on the front side of a recording medium and the 2nd static capacitance detection type pickup circuit 2 picks up a signal on the rear side. In this case, when the 1st static capacitance detection type pickup circuits picks up the signal from the recording medium, the oscillator 77 in the 2nd static capacitance detection type pickup circuit is stopped, and when the 2nd static capacitance detection type pickup circuit picks up the signal from the recording medium, the oscillator 67 in the 1st static capacitance detection type pickup circuit is stopped by the control of a control circuit 3. Thus, the two pickup circuits reproduce continuously the front side and the rear side of the same recording medium without being interferred mutually and the pickup circuits are operated stably.
