When the chromaticity at a light metering point is determined, an area determining means 12 determines the belonging area from the area information 11 put in a table. Then, the mean density value of each picture element in the area 1 and the mean density value of picture elements outside the area are multiplied by the coefficient respectively and added to determine the quantity of exposure on the basis of the sum.
