PURPOSE:To prevent a coating film on an opposite face from being in semi- curing state when an electron ray is irradiated on a coating film of one face by arranging an electron absorbing body between an irradiating window and a base member so as to irradiate the electron ray to the base via the absorbing body. CONSTITUTION:The absorbing bodies (e.g., polyethylene films) 8, 9 absorbing the energy of the electron ray are arranged between the irradiating windows 5A, 6A of each electron ray irradiating device and a running magnetic recording medium 1. The absorbing bodies 8, 9 are carried sequentially by a carrier 10. Suppose that the magnetic recording medium 1 is carried in the direction of arrow, and the electron ray from the electron ray irradiating device 5 is irradiated to the magnetic coating film 3 on the surface via the absorbing body 8 from the irradiating window 5A at the start of the carrying process. The magnetic coating film 3 is cured through the irradiation. Since the electron ray is irradiated via the absorbing body 8 in this way, the magnetic coating film 4 at the rear face is not semi-cured.
