The method of this invention makes it possible to provide a composite sheet material which has not only soft and pliable feel characteristics, despite its density, but also high resistance against discoloration and deterioration the method having a particular combination comprising (a) employment of a polyurethane elastomer containing a sterically hindered amino group in its molecule, (b) addition of a specific amount of polybasic acid and/or specific derivatives thereof, and (c) employment of wet-coagulation treatment.
