<p>Filtrate discharge system for a pressure filter of the type comprising a filtrate receiving chamber (20) divided into a number of sub-chambers each receiving filtrate from a group of filter elements. The discharge system includes an individual discharge pipe (29) communicating with each sub-chamber and connecting with respective vertical riser pipes (30). The riser pipes connect with separate boxes (31) within a head box (32). The boxes (31) communicate with a common discharge pipe (34) via weir. A common header pipe is provided beneath the connections of pipes (29) to riser pipes (30), and includes a flow connection to the pipes (30) via normally closed valves (36). The arrangement enables filtrate to flow from each sub-chamber to each box (31) without any restriction due to valves.</p> |
