PURPOSE:To provide a medicine for circulatory organs, containing (17S)-17,20- dimethyl-9(O)-methano-DELTA<6(9alpha)>-PGI1 compound as an active component, having high chemical stability, and especially high selectivity to anti-platelet coagulation activity, and effective to stenocardia, arterioscrelosis, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent contains the (17S)-17,20-dimethyl-9(O)- methano-DELTA<6(9alpha)>-prostaglandin I1 of formula (R is H, 1-10C alkyl, or 1 equivalent cation), as an active component. The group R is especially preferably H. Concrete examples of the compound are (17S)-17,20-dimethyl-9(O)-methano-DELTA<6(9alpha)>-PGI1 and its methyl ester. The compound of formula has stronger anti-platelet coagulation activity than other hypotensive activities, and has high selectivity of the action. It is administered preferably orally or by intravenous injection. It is used as an antistenocardia, vasodilator, antithrombotic agent, hypotensive agent, anticerebral apoplexy agent, etc., and for the suppression of malignant tumor and of metastasis.
