PURPOSE:To lighten the operator's burden, by a system wherein a simple format design is set as an ordinary format, and when a specification printing format design is required, a specification format can be called from a printing format data file. CONSTITUTION:By using character strings and control codes read through an input part 1, a document is formed at a document-forming part 2 while displaying the content of the document on a document display part 3. When printing the document, a document-printing part 4 calls the document being currently formed or an existing pre-registered document from a document register part 5 and permits the operator to confirm the content of the called document. When printing, the printing part 4 requests a format-setting part 6 to set and confirm a format. The part 6 causes a format-recognizing part 7 to select either a simple format or a specification format, and in the case of the simple format, the format is set by a simple format setting part 8, whereas in the case of the detailed format, a specification format setting part 9 sets the format by calling predetermined format-setting data from a specification register part 10. Specification formats are separately designed and set by a specification format designing part 11. |
