A lyophilised injectable preparation comprises an anthracycline glycoside or one of its salts and a cosolubilising agent which is a hydroxy-, mercapto- or amino-substd. benzoic acid or an alkali metal salt or 1-4C alkyl ester of such an acid or a ring-halogenated methyl-substd. phenol, or an amino acid, or a combination of two or more such cpds. The preparation comprising doxorubicin hydrochloride with a cosolubilising agent comprising 4 parts of methyl p-hydroxbenzoate and 1 part of propyl p-hydroxybenzoate is excluded.
