PURPOSE:To eliminate the cut mark of the gob formed on the outer surface, rapidly, by using a mold having a hollow part on the molding face corresponding to the part on the outer surface of the panel and including the part forming the cut mark of the molten glass gob, and concentrically polishing the protruded part after the molding. CONSTITUTION:The mold 13 is furnished with a hollow part on the molding face at a part corresponding to the part on the outer surface 12 of the panel 10 and including the part forming the cut mark 11 of the shear mark of the gob. The gob supplied to the mold 13 is pressed with the plunger 15 to form a panel 10 having a protrusion 17 at the outer surface 12. After molding, the protruded part 17 containing the cut shear mark 11 is concentrically polished.
