The system is intended for suspending sound-absorbing panels (1,2) from ceiling hooks (e.g. 4,13), such that adjacent panels are longitudinally aligned. The panels are provided with slots (8,9,11) in the perimeter frames for engagement with the hooks which are arranged adjacent to the ends (5,6) of their upper edges (7). The slots of two adjoining panels can engage a common hook. The slotted openings are provided in the upper edges and in adjoining sides (10,12) or of slotted openings in strips secured to the adjoining sides.
