Internal pipe bend surfacing fixture

Pipe bends are surfaced internally by welding a strip of austenite steel to it in a fixture which includes a large wheel surrounding the bend. A swivelling device in the wheel moves the pipe along an arc around the centre of the wheel across its plane. A curved jib on the wheel carries a welding head which can be turned so that the arc always burns in the same optimum direction.
