PURPOSE:To obtain foamed glass useful as an incombustible insulation material and panel-core material of wall, ceiling, etc., by coating a core material composed of combustible particle with a mixture of glass powder and decomposition- type foaming agent using a binder, filling the coated particle in a mold and heating at a specific temperature. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. of glass powder is mixed with 0.5-10pts.wt. of a decomposition-type foaming agent, and the mixture is applied to a core material composed of a combustible particle using a binder. The coated particle is filled in a mold and heated, sintered and foamed at a temperature to effect the combustion of the core material and the melting of the glass particles. The objective foamed glass can be produced thereby.
