PURPOSE:To simplify a loading work of a granular material onto a wide ship, by a method wherein side plates and a press plate are slidably located to a hatch cover, granular material is discharged and accumulated through a loader onto the hatch cover, and the granular material on the hatch cover is dropped into a hatch through slide of the side plates and the press plate. CONSTITUTION:A hatch cover 1 is slightly projected from a hatch port 2, and a granular material is dropped onto the hatch cover 1 through a loader 3. The granular material orderly flows down into the hatch port 2 to complete loading of the granular material into the hatch. Finally, a press plate 10 and side plates 11 located on the hatch cover 1 are located so that they re slidable through operation of a hydraulic device 4, the granular material on the hatch cover 1 is contained in the hatch through slide of the press plate and the side plates. This, even if a large wide ship is so wide for a loader to be extended short of a hatch, enables efficient loading of the granular material.
