PURPOSE:To facilitate inputs of patterns and pictures by putting a transparent sheet containing a sketch of a picture on the scope of a display device and tracing the sketch with a cursor operated by a pointing device. CONSTITUTION:A transparent sheet 8 containing a sketch 9 is put on the scope of a display device 2 of a computer 1. A cusor 3 is displayed on the scope and moves according to the movements of a pointing device 4. The locus of the cursor 3 remains on the scope in the form of a line. Then the device 4 is operated so that the sketch 9 is traced by the cursor 3. Thus the sketch 9 is supplied to the device 2.
