PURPOSE:To prevent a head from damaging when a recording medium is set by providing a medium support member which moves the recording medium from a state wherein the medium is inhibited from abutting on the head to a state wherein the medium is allowed to abut on the head when the medium is set. CONSTITUTION:When the medium is loaded on a magnetic disk recording device, a medium support tool 10 fixed to a bridge 8 is positioned above the magnetic head 2 viewed horizontally, so the medium 1 is positioned above the magnetic head 2 and inserted without contacting the magnetic head 2. Then, when the medium 1 is clamped to a spindle motor 11 by a collet 7 fitted to the bridge 8, the medium support tool 10 is lowered together with the bridge 8 because it is coupled with it. At this time, the medium support tool 10 is positioned below the magnetic head 2, so the recording surface of the medium 1 contacts the magnetic head 2 excellently. |
