PURPOSE:To permit discrimination between new and old media even without resorting to the procedure of altering an account number by issuing a medium whose revision number is renewed when a new medium is issued. Then the contents of an account No.7 that has been stored to the magnetic stripe part of the bank book, which has been set to the terminal device, by file information 9 in the form of a bank-book magnetic-stripe recording format 4 and also the contents of the revision No.8 are set to an account No.5 and a revision No.6, respectively. Finally, said both said contents are recorded in the bank book magnetic-stripe part and the bank book is re-issued at the time of bank book transaction, the account No.5 of the bank book magnetic stripe information 4 is compared with the bank No.7 of the file information 9 in the memory and search is made until both numbers coincides. Once they coincide, a comparison is next made between the revision No.6 of the magnetic stripe information 4 and the revision No.8 of the file information 9, and when both numbers coincide, the transaction is permitted. |
