PURPOSE:To select easily the desired action mode with one switch by responding to the operation of the switch, displaying successively an action mode at the prescribed sequence and time interval, responding to the second operation continuously and controlling the change-over of said equipment to the action mode displayed at the time of the second operation. CONSTITUTION:When a user pushes a switch 14, at a displaying device 15, action modes such as a recording (REC), a playing (PLAY), a fast feeding (FF), a rewinding (REW), a stopping (STOP), a pause (PAUSE), and an ejection (EJECT) are successively displayed by the prescribed sequence (for example, REW PLAY PAUSE...) and the constant time interval (for example, one second). When the desired action mode, for example, the playing (PLAY) appears at the displaying device 15, and the hands are taken off, the action mode 'PLAY' is selected and executed.
