PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a rotary polygon mirror by forming a reflecting mirror surface, a reflection intensifying film, and a protection film on a base material molded out of resin by using a mold. CONSTITUTION:The rotary polygon mirror has the base material 1 which has the reflecting mirror surface 3 molded on its flank, the reflection intensifying film 4 provided on the reflecting mirror surface 3, and the protection film 5. A through hole 6 for mounting the rotary polygon mirror on a scanning device is formed in the center of the base material 1 and a fitting reference surface 2 for mounting the rotary polygon mirror on the scanning device is molded on its bottom surface. The base material 1 is molded out of resin or a composite resin material consisting principally of resin by using the mold. |
