发明名称 CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD FOR STEEL
摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of the surface defect and breakout of an ingot by forming preliminarily a film-like flux layer having a specific melting temp. on the inside surface of a casting mold. CONSTITUTION:Raw material consisting essentially of a metallic oxide and metallic fluoride such as SiO2, Al2O3 and CaF in mixed to prepare the raw material for a fixed film-like flux. The compsn. is so determined as to have >=700 deg.C and <=1400 deg.C melting temp. The cause for the generation of the surface crack in the ingot during continuous casting of a steel lies in the ununiform formation of foam in the flux admitted between the ingot and the mold. The flux having such specific melting temp. is preliminarily fixed and formed in the film shape by thermal spraying, etc. to the inside surface of the mold and the molten steel is cast continuously with such mold. The foam does not stick to the fixed film-like flux layer or he little foam is uniformly distributed therein. The generation of the surface defect and the generation of the breakout are prevented by the above-mentioned method.
