INGOT SUPPORTING DEVICE FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE FOR THIN SHEET

PURPOSE:To support and cool a continuously cast thin sheet at multiple points in the transverse and longitudinal direction and to prevent the generation of defects such as breakout by disposing zigzag many support rolls above and below in the down stream part at the outlet of a casting mold of a continuous casting device for thin sheet and providing cooling water nozzles therebetween. CONSTITUTION:A molten steel in a tundish 1 is poured from a nozzle 2 into the continuous casting device which forms the casting mold 3 of many upper and lower blocks 5. The molten steel is thereby cast continuously as the thin sheet 4. The plural support rolls 8 made into the split construction are disposed zigzag in the down stream position in the outlet part of the molds 3, 3 so as to sandwich the sheet 4 from above and below. The many cooling water nozzles 7 are disposed between the support rolls to cool the sheet. The sheet 4 emitted from the mold 3 is cooled while the sheet is supported from above and below at the multiple points in the transverse and longitudinal directions and therefore the unsolidified metal in the sheet is uniformly cooled and the bulging and breakout, etc. are prevented.
