PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body superior in characteristics by measuring the surface itself of the electrophotographic sensitive body and drying the coating film applied onto it at a constant temp. while controlling its temp. CONSTITUTION:The coating film 2 is formed on the surface of a hollow cylinder substrate 1, and this is placed on a stand 4 so as to insert a heater 3, preferably, an infrared heater, into it, and it is heated from the inside, while the temp. of its surface is measured with an infrared thermometer 5 and the power to be fed to the heater 3 is automatic controlled by means of a central processing unit and a control circuit 6. The use of the infrared heater facilitates temp. control, and improves responsivity of the control. It is preferred to ventilate or circulate the air surrounding the substrate 1 saturated with the vapor of the solvent, while it is preferable to control an air flow speed to at highest <=1m/min in order to prevent uneven drying, because high speed air flow has danger of causing uneven drying. |
