PURPOSE:To speed up 90 deg. rotating processing of an image by applying line buffer to data rearrangement. CONSTITUTION:The image data that is subjected to conversion, that is in store in image memory 1 and that is shown in Drawing (a) is sequentially read from line 0 to line 7 by controller 3 and loaded onto line buffer 7. Next, controller 3 sequentially read data at column 0 on each row via input port 9 and writes this read data into image memory 2. Next, when line buffer 7 is shifted by one bit, data at column 1 on each row in each shift register 80-87 is output and supplied to input port 9. Further, controller 3 takes in the output signal from each shift register 80-87, or data at column 1 on each row via input port 9 and writes it as 90 deg. rotated data into image memory 2.
