DEVICE FOR CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION OF COMPOSITE BILLET

PURPOSE:To improve the adhesiveness and productivity of a long-sized product by inserting continuously a core material into a tundish from above so as to penetrate therethrough and disposing a drawing device for a composite billet on the outlet side of a mold. CONSTITUTION:The mold 21 which is connected and united with the tundish 23 via a refractory ring 22 and is open at both ends is disposed. centering rolls 26 which insert continuously the core material 24 through an upper aperture 25 into the mold 21 is provided above the tundish 23. Pinch rolls 28 for drawing the composite billet 27 are disposed on the outlet side of the mold 21. A molten metal 30 is supplied into the space between the continuously inserted core material 24 and the wall of the mold 21 and is continuously solidified to form the composite billet 27. The billet is drawn by the rolls 28. Since the molten metal is stably supplied, the long-sized product which is free from the intrusion of scum and the incorporation of inclusions is obtd. and the adhesiveness and productivity are improved.
