PURPOSE:To achieve a higher position measuring accuracy, by estimating the current position of an automobile based on the revolutions of the rear wheels to correct the position of the automobile in terms of the measured position with a radio position measuring device. CONSTITUTION:The current position of an automobile is estimated by computation with an estimated position calculator 16 from outputs of revolutions detectors 14a for right and left rear wheels. On the other hand, when the position of the automobile is measured with a radio position measuring device 20, the measured position is replaced by the estimated position to be corrected as the automobile position and based on the difference between the measured position and the estimated position, computing elements for the estimated position are corrected by computation with a position corrector 18. The computing elements subjected to correction by computation are fed to a calculator 16 and the position of the automobile is estimated through the calculator 16 using the computing elements corrected until it is measured with the device 20 to be displayed 22. In this manner, as the position of the automobile is estimated to correct the measured position with the device 20, the measurement of the position of automobile can be done without being affected by an magnetic field surrounding the automobile while the computing elements are corrected automatically thereby always enabling highly accurate measurement of the current position of the automobile. |
