PURPOSE:To reduce the space of copy transfer direction, by providing a light shielding plate to prevent the light leaking from one read part to other read part in case where front side reader and rear side reader is provided separately. CONSTITUTION:Copies 2 on a hopper 1 are sent out from the hopper 1 by a sending out roller 3. And the copy which passed through a separator roller 4 which separates copies and reverse a belt 5 is read of its front side by a front side reading part which is composed of a transfer roller 8, pressing roller 9, light source 10, mirror 11, lens 12 and an image sensor 13. Next, the rear side is read at a delayed time corresponding with the difference of positions of the front reader and the rear reader. When both sides are read, the copy is store in a stacker 14. By providing a light shielding plate 17, the light leaked from a light source 10' to the surface of front side and the light leaked from the light source 10 to the surface of rear side and the floating up of the copy are all prevented.
