PURPOSE:To facilitate inputs of pictures by providing an index to a pointing device. CONSTITUTION:An index 14a is provided to a pointing device 14 and a picture 7 on a mat 6 is traced by the index 14a. Thus a cursor 3 on a display device 2 is moved along the picture 7. Then the locus of the cursor 3 is programmed so that the locus remains on the scope of the device 2 in the form of a line for input of the picture 7.
