PURPOSE:To improve safety and reliability by providing an air flow channel on the X-ray shield case facing the heat radiation section of the projector type CRT and forming the air flow channel so that it hides the X-ray source of the CRT. CONSTITUTION:The X-ray shield case 12 consists of the front case 13 secured on the lens holder plate 7 and the top lid case 14 located outside the front case 13. The top lid case 14 covers the end face of the front case 13 and secured on the front case 13 with screws 17 and spacers 16 in such a manner that the air flow channel 15 provided. Air carrying the heat dissipated from the radiator fins is brought upward through the air flow channel 15, and exhausted, preventing heated air stagnating in the shield case 12 and cooling the CRT 2 efficiently. The top lid case 14 completely covering the end face of the front case 13 together with the X-ray shield case 12 thoroughly hides the X-ray source of the CRT, and therefore, X-ray is completely absorbed by the X-ray shield case 12, and not emitted toward the outside at all.
