发明名称 METHOD FOR STABILIZING POTENTIAL OF SILVER HALIDE ELECTRODE
摘要 PURPOSE:To stabilize the potential of silver halide electrodes in a short period with simple constitution by immersing the electrodes into an electrolytic soln. contg. a halogen material and short-circuiting respectively electrically the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The electrodes 1, 2 formed by providing AgCl on the surface of Ag is immersed into the electrolyte 3 consisting of HCl. Internal current (i) flows and the AgCl is more electrodeposited on the surface of the electrode 2 when the electrode 2 is positive with respect to the electrode 1. The potential changes gradually toward the negative direction on progression of the electrodeposition until the potentials of the electrodes 1, 2 are made equal. The potential of the silver halide electrodes is thus stabilized in the short period with the simple constitution. The need for paying special care for the condition of the electrode surface, electrolysis, welding, etc. in the stage of manufacturing the electrodes is eliminated and the easy production of the electrodes having always the uniform performance is thus made possible.
