PURPOSE:To improve thermal insulation function of a bath tub providing a valve which is installed to the opening of the water recycling upper pipe of a bath tub and the lid of which is provided on the valve on the side of the bath tub for opening and closing the valve and supporting elastically the valve lid by means of an elastically displacable body made of a two-directional shape memory alloy. CONSTITUTION:The lid 6 of a valve installed at the opening 5 of the upper water recycling pipe 3 of a bath tub 2 on the side thereof is elastically supported between stays 10 and 10 provided respectively on a cylindrical body 9 of the lid 6 and a support cylinder 8 on the side of the pipe 3 by extending in tension an elastically displacable body 7 made of a two-directional shaper memory alloy. The elastically displacable body 7 contracts and urges the lid 6 to the opening 5 by its spring action until it reaches a specified temperature, blocking the back-flow from a bath tub 2 to a bath heating unit 1. When temperature of hot water rises to a specified temperature, the elastically displacable body 7 expands in length and opens the lid 6. Next, when, after the heating is completed, the hot water temperature drops below the specified temperature to another specified temperature, the elastically displacable body 7 contracts to close the lid 6. The thermal insulation function of the bath tube is thereby improved. |
