PURPOSE:To execute efficiently optical communications between vehicles by approaching a vehicle to be transmitted to a communications equipment at a line side and transmitting information, which is subjected to the time compression and stored, to said vehicle to be received from the communication equipment at the line side through a line side communications equipment and a control center. CONSTITUTION:When sound information is transmitted to the vehicle CR from the vehicle CT, said information is provisionally stored which is transmitted to the memory circuit of the optical transmitting and receiving equipment TR of the vehicle CT. Then, when the vehicle CT passes in the vicinity of the line side communications equipment S1, a sound signal from the equipment S1 compresses and transmits a vehicle identifying code IDR and a sound signal to an equipment 1 by means of optical space transfer. The signal received by the equipment S1 is transmitted to the control center CC through an optical fiber cable CB and provisionally stored. Here, when the vehicle CR passes in the vicinity of the line side communications equipment S2, the optical transmitting and receiving equipment TR, which receives the sound signal from the equipment S2, compresses and transmits the IDR code by means of the optical space transfer. Receiving the IDR code, the equipment S2 transmits the information to the center CC through the cable CB. Then the information is collated with the code of the vehicle CT in the center, and information on the vehicle CT is transmitted to the vehicle CT. |
