PURPOSE:To make possible to restart a call without operating a call once more by the calling subscriber of a public telephone set by providing a means that informs the shortage of coins to the opposite subscriber of the public telephone set holding the channel in use and a means that charges a telephone fee to the opposite subscriber after restart, on an automatic exchange network that contains the public telephone sets. CONSTITUTION:In an outgoing exchange 1 that receives a no accumulation signal (a), a central control unit 13 adds the transmitting period of a coin containing signal to the no accumulation signal (a) and transmits it to an incoming exchange 3 and also, makes the holding state of a channel 12 that is set in a network 11 and a channel 5 that is the path to the incoming exchange 3. In the incoming exchange 3 that receives the no accumulation signal (a), a central control unit 33 makes the holding state of a channel 32 that is set in a network 31 and sets a channel 34 in the network 31 and connects a called subscriber 4 to a talkie trunk 35. The talkie trunk 35 transmits a message that a call can be restarted on the called subscriber's accound by hooking, for example, to the called subscriber. And by an indicated operation from the message, that is the hooking, within a prescribed time, a restart call requesting signal (b) is returned.
